As the release of the 4ms MetaModule looms on the horizon, there’s a lot of buzz about what this versatile module will bring to the table. Promising to be a "Swiss Army knife" for Eurorack enthusiasts, the MetaModule is designed to complement existing setups, offering a customizable hardware interface that could expand your modular playground. But in a world where VCV Rack and the Poly Hector already offer powerful, cost-effective alternatives, is the MetaModule a game-changer or just another module waiting to make your patching life more complicated?

A smart man once said: "What's this button do?"
Having spent years diving deep into the world of Eurorack through VCV Rack, I can say that the software has been a blessing, allowing me to explore the limitless possibilities of modular synthesis without emptying my wallet. Even though I built a 208hp rack and had a blast patching, the constant need to buy and replace modules was a financial black hole. The MetaModule seems like it could be a neat hardware complement to VCV Rack, potentially providing more tactile control and flexibility. But the reality is, with formidable competitors like VCV Rack and Poly Hector, the MetaModule might end up being a niche tool. It looks fun, but the idea of patching solely with this module could turn into a tedious exercise rather than a streamlined creative process. This might just be for those who enjoy a little extra effort with their modular madness, but for the rest of us, sticking to simpler, more focused tools could be the way to go.
4MS Metamodule will be Available on August 27th for $649.00.
